2013 has been a good year for artists as some albums have made huge impact to listeners, reignited their career and proved themselves how creative they are. Here's my list of the best albums released this year.
20. Queens Of The Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork
It's no surprise that QOTSA's latest release after a 6-year hiatus is on this list. Filled with crunching riffs and strange atmospheric sounds, this is definitely their best work since Songs For The Deaf.
Check out: Kalopsia, I Sat By The Ocean
19. MS MR - Secondhand Rapture
New York duo MS MR's debut album shows so much potential as Lizzy (MS)'s passionate vocals contrasts the music's majestic sound and beat. Their writing and creativity explores how experimental they are and all the songs differ. Receiving some popularity after their single 'Bones' were featured in the Game of Thrones trailer, they are the one to watch.
Check out: Hurricane, BTSK
18. Tonight Alive - The Other Side
Pop punk band Tonight Alive's second album have shown how much they have grown after the release of their debut album. Aggressive riffs, powerful lyrics and impressive vocals from McDougall, it's duality of heavy and poppy music makes this record worth listening to.
Check out: The Fire, No Different
17. The Neighbourhood - I Love You
The Neighbourhood's debut album is very atmospheric, mixing electronic pop and indie rock with R&B influences. With standout tracks like funky 'Sweater Weather', the seductive 'Flawless' and rhythmic 'Float', this modern pop album is worth checking out.

16. Deaf Havana - Old Souls
Deaf Havana's third album shows more maturity compared to their past releases. Its sound has classic rock and folk music influences and it's very anthemic. It's inspiring and emotional overall.

15. Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
French electronic music duo Daft Punk's fourth album explores the 1970s and 1980s era of music and its production and collaboration makes this record one of the best albums this year. Mixing disco, electronic music, soft-rock and prog-pop together, this is one mind-blowing dance album.
Check out: Giorgio by Moroder, Touch
14. CHVRCHES - The Bones of What You Believe
Filled with catchy hooks and big beats, the synthpop band's debut album delivers a significant style that differs from other works in the same genre. Mayberry's bright vocals stands out from the album's synth-driven sound. Almost every track are radio-friendly and its uniqueness will make you listen to it over and over again.
Check out: Lies, Lungs
13. Childish Gambino - Because The Internet
Donald Glover's ambitious second album acts more like a concept album, filled with short instrumentals and some radio-friendly tracks. After his success with his debut album, Camp, this album has shown some maturity through his lyrics. Its edgy sound and lyrical dexterity makes this indie rap album quite significant but others might find this challenging to listen and connect to.
Check out: 3005, The Party
12. letlive. - The Blackest Beautiful
letlive.'s post-hardcore third record incorporates different styles like funk, metal, punk rock, soul and other genre influences, while its lyrical theme of corporate greed and racism makes it a "politically, socially and personally conscious" album. With some catchy hooks, mind-bending melodies and staggering dynamics, The Blackest Beautiful is their most compelling album to date.
Check out: The Dope Beat, Banshee (Ghost Fame)
11. Biffy Clyro - Opposites
Packed with melodic rock anthems, creative production and diversity, Biffy Clyro's double album is brilliantly executed and is considered their best masterpiece to date. Their signature intricate riffs and knockout choruses are still here but the whole album feels more heartfelt than their other records.
